Upper Qu'Appelle River and Wascana Creek Watersheds

Residents of the Upper Qu'Appelle River and Wascana Creek Watersheds, through the Watershed Advisory Committees, have finalized the Upper Qu'Appelle River and Wascana Creek Watersheds Source Water Protection Plan.

To achieve finalization of the Source Water Protection Plan, open house public consultation events were held, enabling all watersheds' residents to discuss and comment on the Plan. Watershed Advisory Committees' members met to further consider the publics' comments, and by consensus, finalized the Plan.

In June 2008, funding to assist with implementation of the Source Water Protection Plan was presented from the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority to the implementation organization. The organization is known as WUQWATR (Wascana Upper Qu'Appelle Watersheds Association Taking Responsibility, Inc.). The organization's main task is to implement the actions contained in this Plan.
