Project WET is a fun, hands-on, activity-based instructional program about water which supplements the K-12 core
curricula in science, social studies, language arts, math, art, wellness and physical education.
Project WET complements the aquatic activities in Project WILD.
Project WET is field tested and appropriate for multi-ethnic and multi-level classrooms.
The Saskatchewan Ministry of Education highly recommends this interdisciplinary program for the core science grades 1-10,
biology 20 & 30 and chemistry 30.
The Project WET Activity Guide contains 91 complete lesson plans, many with a game-type format, and
"Monday morning ready" reproducible student sheets. Topics include:
- Current water issues
- Human health
- Weather, drought and floods
- Water use and management strategies
- Water in the social and cultural context
- Ground and surface water
Project WET is available through five hour certification workshops delivered by teacher facilitators and
water resource professionals. Teachers receive the activity guide, the cross-reference to the Saskatchewan
core science curricula and the Canadian supplement with reproducible masters.
Group rates are available for school-based professional development days and subsidized rates are available for teacher education students.
